Bunny’s Garden in Full Bloom

It’s been a while since we’ve made an update about our garden, but it is not because of inactivity. With the help of staff, community volunteers, and our summer camp participants, we’ve seeded/planted, cultivated, and harvested tomatoes, kale, carrots, onions, snap peas, cabbage, eggplant, and much more!

As a part of our summer camp program, our young participants work with The Philadelphia Food Trust to learn about gardening, using Bunny’s Garden as an outdoor classroom. The children are often energized to practice what they’ve learned and enjoy the fruits of their labor at harvest time. This season, participants and volunteers harvested over 75 lbs of fresh vegetables and filtered through to our weekly food distribution programs on Saturday mornings.
