COVID-19

In an effort to contain the Coronavirus (COVID – 19) the Governor of Pennsylvania has recommended that Philadelphia schools and community organizations cancel operations for a period of two weeks.

Following the governor’s recommendations, Philadelphia schools, community organizations, events and places where people congregate are canceling operations for a period of two weeks pending further information regarding the containment of this virus.

The Common Place’s role is to serve children and families of SW Philadelphia. We work in full cooperation with federal, state and local jurisdictions. Our priority is to assure the safety and well-being of those we serve. In concert with these area schools and organizations, The Common Place (TCP) will suspend operations and will cease the provision of all programs and events for a two week period effective at 6:00 PM today (March 12th). TCP administrative offices will be closed as well. It is presently anticipated that operations will resume on Monday, March 30th pending further information from our governing jurisdictions.

We will keep you updated as we learn more about the course of action recommended for organizations such as The Common Place. You are encouraged to wash your hands often, stay out of public places, avoid touching your face unless your hands are washed and avoid touching others.

Thank you for your understanding and prayers.
