Our Offical Statement In Response to #GeorgeFloyd

Over the last few days and weeks, we have witnessed on national news and social media the horrific killings of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and George Floyd. We understand that our community is hurting. We are hurting as well and we stand by our neighbors in Southwest Philadelphia in the fight for equity and justice.

Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers are with the Taylor, Arbery, and Floyd families, as well as black communities across the nation in anguish because their lives indeed matter. Black lives matter. Our frustrations will fuel our eternal commitment – providing the resources necessary to improve the lives of the children (and their families) who live in Southwest Philadelphia through education, collaboration, and faith.

As the combined pressures of civil unrest and COVID-19 mount, so does our passion and resolve to address the needs of our friends and neighbors in this special neighborhood.

Be Safe. Be Strong. Be Encouraged. We’re In This Together.
