Happy February!
After a few weeks of reviews and goal-setting for the new semester, The Common Place Orchestra has resumed Saturday morning rehearsals, and our students are energetically learning new material! Mrs. Nellie’s beginner orchestra is learning Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star by ear, and they are advancing their note-reading skills with a fun tongue twister song called Fuzzy Wuzzy, Bear With Me Please!
Dr. Joe’s advanced orchestra is playing Bill Withers’ beloved song, Lean on Me. Along with promoting a good message, this song is challenging our students with advanced techniques and concepts including shifting, extensions, and syncopated rhythms, among others. We are looking forward to sharing this music with you!
